How do I get to this bamboo forest (URLs above)? It's labeled as Sagano forest but I could not find any information on it.The particular bamboo forest is the small one in the Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple. See access information here: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3912.html#/nenbutsujiPersonally, I think the forest looks better on that photo than it is in reality.

It is a grove, rather than a forest, and more as part of a visit to the area than a destination in its own right. It is near Arashiyama as Uji says.
An alternative bamboo grove can be viewed at Kodaiji temple on the other side of the city - it might be more accessible depending on what else you are doing.
