planning to go to yuzawa or karuizawa to experience snowboarding ( please take note that in case this will be our first time to try this activity ) say in Yuzara, im checking this site http://www.galaresort.jp/winter/english/rental/rental.htmlfor us beginners, show we just rent Snowboard + Boots (5200 yen for 1 day) then Wear + Gloves (3000 yen for 1 day). would that complete our day experience? probably we just want to experience or play in the snow. will 1 day is too much? are these rentals exclude the entrance fee? say in prince resort in karuizawa PLease advice on this and the wears. we dont want to buy wears of course for this experience.. thanks

Yes, the rental fees exclude the entrance tickets. You will definitely want to rent the full set of wear + gloves, especially if you aren't used to snow/cold.
A quick note, snowboarding isn't especially easy to figure out on your own. If it is your first time, I recommend getting lessons. If you aren't that serious about snowboarding and are looking for more of a general "play in the snow" experience, you could just rent a sled instead, or just play around the entrance area. You may not even need to buy a ticket at that point, as you wont be using the lifts or gondolas at all. However you could also get a gondola ticket (like at Karuizawa) and go up to see the views/play if the weather is nice, then ride back down.

Yeah probably just play in the snow and just enjoy the place all white hehehe.
For Gala Yuzawa, plenty of snow at the entrance of the ski resort? say when you get out of the train station? is this correct? if we really want to go inside the resort, probably a sled will do.
we are planning for a whole day trip end of march. hope there will still be lots of snow during that time or maybe 1 st week of April
if we just want to to play in the snow, a day in yuzawa is too much i think, we can go to Karuizawa after lunch probably. we also want to maximize the tokyo/kanto pass as well

For snow I'd definitely go to Yuzawa over Karuizawa. The snow is much better, and yes, definitely a lot right off the train!

Yes, definitely. Yuzawa often has snow into May, although the season's already finished. Karuizawa tends to have to use fake snow in the early and late season, as it doesn't get as much snow.

if using tokyo wide pass, how much is the total skiing including rental, gondola, lift, entrance for HALF day at gala yuzawa? And what is meant by JR website stated the discounted price is 3100\?
