Area with bamboo forest? 2016/2/7 06:15
We are a family planing to visit Japan for three weeks in July. We would like to visit Tokyo and Kyoto, but want to rent a car and see some nature and rural areas as well (7-6 days)
We'd love to see a bamboo forest , if possible ? If anyone has any ideas where we could see such an area , they will be very welcome. Thanks!

Whilst in Kyoto if you go to Arashiyama you can walk through the Bamboo Grove. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3912.html

And I saw that you want to visit rural areas of Japan. I've never been but I do know about Miyama which is a 90 minute drive away from Kyoto.

Meanwhile north of Kyoto you have Ohara, Kurama & Kibune.
