How can I avoid Golden Week?

Hi everyone, in my 3 month travel from south to north, Golden Week will hit me when I plan to be in Kochi, near the Niyodo River, I would like to know if this is the kind of place that gets overrun or it stays mildly quiet? And I you have any ideas of where in the area I could avoid prices and people gatherings I would very much appreaciate it. I like to camp a lot, I looked into camping near the Niyodo River, is it a good option? I dont mind staying 5 days in the area and then moving on.
