How To Travel Himeji Castle from Tokyo

I have JR pass during my stay in Tokyo and i intend to have a 2D1N to Himeji Castle and Osaka. Pls help to advise how to travel to Himeji using by JR pass and what are the things that must not miss in Himeji. I'll be overnight at Osaka. Thanks

The shinkansen runs through Himeji Station so you can easily use your JR Pass to take the shinkansen to Himeji. The castle is a short walk from the station.

As @Goober has said just use your JR Pass to get to Himeji. The castle is just under a Kilometer from the station. You can borrow a bicycle for free from the Tourist information at the station exit. The castle can be busy at popular times as it has been closed for so long so allow for that. Don't miss the garden Koko-en next to the castle.
