What has changed in ten years in Tokyo? 2016/4/15 00:03
My last visit to Tokyo was in 2006.
Almost exactly ten years later I will be visiting again.
Back in 2006 I saw many of the main sights.

I would like to concentrate my upcoming visit on all that is new from the last ten years. So I would like to know what has changed in ten years in Tokyo? What are the "new" sights , dating from the last ten years to visit?

Sky Tree

The changes from 2006 will mostly be in new buildings.

Korean words too.
I believe food has become cheaper.
There is now another international airport servicing Tokyo.
The foreign music scene is more prominent.

Japan-wide there are more shinkansen lines.

Thank you all for your answers!
I see that this thread is slowly becoming something else, turning into a commentary of the changes in the Tokyoian society.
My original intention was merely to find out "what new stuff is there to see?"

There's probably a lot more themed cafes compared to ten years ago, but your question is a bit broad/vague. Perhaps if you provided more concrete examples of the types of "stuff" you are interested in you would get more relevant answers. Though it might be simpler to just go to the Tokyo section of this website and look for places you haven't yet visited. Afterall, if you haven't seen it, it's new to you. :D
