Morioka to Miyako (Iwate) public trasport

Dear readers,
I am planning a trip to Tohoku in summer, and I am considering a day-trip to Miyako from Morioka. On hyperdia website, I saw that the first train leaves Morioka around 11am and arrives around 1pm. This would be very short for a visit, so I have 2 questions:
- Is there a chance there will be more (earlier) trains in August ?
- I know there is also a bus, but I can't find a schedule or a map, can you help me ?
