Asakusa to Ikebukuro - Taxi or subway/train

Hello.
I need to be at 8.30am at Ikebukuro station to catch a bus. The problem is that i carry a large suitcase, which means that it might be a BIG problem while riding the subway (Ginza Line) + train (Yamanote Line) at rush hour (Asakusa - Ueno - Ikebukuro). I read several comments advising people not to carry luggage during rush hours.
I could try to catch the train at Asakusa by 7am, which would get me to Ikebukuro very soon - but i think it will be already crowded at that time. Right?
Or i could call a taxi. I read that it will cost me around 4000Y. But i am not sure about the traffic at this hour of the day (7.30/8am)...
Any ideias/advices on this? Thank you in advance!

I am going to Kashiwazaki in Nigata, so altough i couldn't find the prices in the website, i dont believe it will cost me less than the taxi fare...
Anyway, does anyone knows if the traffic is heavy at 7/8am?
Thanks!

both road and rail have rush hour 7-9.
i would take the train and aim for 7am arrival. then have breakfast in ikebukuro station or surrounds somewhere.
