Nezu shrine and Hachiko statue Univ. of Tokyo 2016/5/19 02:25
Please help me plan best transportation route to take from Kawasaki to Nezu Shrine and to Univ. of Tokyo School of Agriculture to view Hachiko statue. I understand that the two locations are close by with subway but unsure whether I should begin at Nezu or the reverse. After we are done, we will head to Okachimachi for shopping.

You need to be more specific.
What part of Kawasaki are you coming from?
There are two Agricultural schools, both have several campuses, none are on a subway line or near NEZU.
If we know the source of your info. it may help.

Nezu Shrine,Tokyo Univ Agriculture(Yayoi campus)
and Okachimachi are not so far from JR Ueno stn by walk.
Take a JR regular rapid(JR Tokaido main line/Ueno Tokyo line)
until JR Ueno station from JR Kawasaki station enough.(no transfering)

(Change dep date/time also dep location if not)

If don't walk long change arr station "Todai-Mae Station" fr "Ueno station".
But Todai-Mae Station is subway Naboku-line(not JR)
so need one or two times transfering also not cheapest way.

Walking around 60min total no hard slope no worry.

(Map enlarge and use "street view")
Hachiko statue placed very close from campus main gate.

I would suggest;

Kawasaki sta - Tokyo sta(by JR Tokaido line, platform No.2)

Tokyo sta - Otemachi sta(by Tokyo metro Marunouchi line, platform No. 2)

Otemachi sta - Nezu sta(by Tokyo metro Chiyoda line, platform No. 6)

At Nezu sta, go to Exit 1(Not "2"), on the ground, go straight ahead(toward North direction) and turn lef the first intersection. You will see Nezu shrine on your right.

From Nezu shrine, go to Hondo-dori Ave(map essential), down to south direction, you will see U o T faculty of agriculture gate on your left, hachiko and professor statue locates on left side of the gate inside.

To Okachimachi sta, I think you better to way back to Nezu sta on the way you came, then go back to Tokyo sta, get on JR Yamanote line to Okachimachi sta(platform No.4).
