Where to hike Nov 22 & 23rd?

My friend and I are looking at doing two day hikes preferably in the Japanese Alps. I was looking into the Kamikochi area, but found out those close on the 15th. We don't need to summit the tallest mountain, or even summit a mountain. Just some hikes with nice views enjoying the fall, and moderate difficulty ( we don't want it to be too easy). We will not be bringing our winter hiking gear, and are both in good shape and used to hiking in the mountains. We will already be coming from Mount Koyasan, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. Thanks

Well there is always Kurama and Mt Hiei in Kyoto. Hiei being the more challenging of the two. Especially if you plan to ascend from Kyoto and descend into the Lake Biwa side (due to the mountain not just being high but it has a long plateau).
Takayama and Nagano has some things to climb too.
