Buying Multiple Kansai Thru Passes 2016/5/30 06:13
Hello everyone,

I will visit the Kansai Area for 13 days with 2 friends.
We will arrive at Kansai International Airport and we have to get to Otsu to our hotel, where we will stay for the entire time.

But we would like to visit the Kansai area and travel to Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Himeji.

So my question is the following:
What would be the best means of transportation for us?
The JR Pass is probably not worth it, since we will only visit the Kansai area.

So ILm thinking about a Kansai Thru Pass or a Kansai One Pass / ICOCA card.
Can we buy four 3-day Kansai Thru Passes during our stay?
Or is it limited to 1 Pass per stay in Japan?

It would be awesome if anyone has some recommendations or can answer my question :)

Have a great day!

Best regards,
Arthur

It really depends on when and how much traveling you do in one day. You question is vague in its information. But your best bet is to use hyperdia to calculate your daily travels and then decide if passes are right for you.

Just travelling around Kyoto and Osaka wont cost you more than 1000 yen per day. Travelling to Himeji and Nara cost a little more, but can be much cheaper if you ride rapid services over expresses of shinkansen.
