Kansei Area pass - only once?

Hello, I already used the Kansei Area pass a couple of weeks ago and was planing to use it twice more in the coming weeks. However, I found this statement:
"Caution: A Visitor may purchase Kansai Area Pass ONLY ONCE per visit."
This info is missing on these info pages. Someone has experience with this?

This restriction only applies if you buy your pass through JR West; you can buy more than one if you buy them through a third-party seller.
