Some Narita Express go to Shinjuku (no change required), or some others stop at Tokyo (or go onto another destination), that you need to make one change at Tokyo station. But when you buy the ticket at Narita Airport, and tell them your destination is Shinjuku, they will give you the reservation for the best train for you.

Yes, you purchase it upon arrival at JR ticket office at Narita Airport. You never know if your flight will be delayed, or how long it takes you to clear immigration and customs, so it is simply best to buy the ticket when you get there :)

@ noahweijian

1)
Read again.
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/nex_round.html
This is NOT all 14 days unlimited ride ticket.
Just (A)going and (B)return two tickets include N'EX seat fee.

Now(from last year Spring) no need N'EX seat resevaion until dep time
but strongly recommend seat resevaion if enough time until dep.

Also you can take regualar JR-East's Rapid and Local trains on the day
after/before N'EX until/from Yellow colored area without option fee.
(You cannot stopover/ticket gate out and re-entering at all stns)

BTW,where to g after Shinkjuku? No JR line area?

2)
No online reservation by this ticket.
Only other more wide area covered Passes.

Currently, the Narita Express 22, 26, 42, and 48 do not go through Shinjuku. All others do, but be careful to not board the wrong car.

Thanks for the correction guys/gals. I thought they all separated at Tokyo before going to their final destinations.
