Japanica osaka-tokyo e-voucher 2016/6/20 01:38
Hi,

Sorry for what might seem like a silly question, but regarding this:

http://www.japanican.com/en/tour/detail/VJOPENTO1

How exactly are the 7 days calculated? Let's say hypothetically I take the train to Osaka on 7th of August - do I have to take the train back to Tokyo by the 13th? Or do I have until the 14th?

Also, am I allowed to choose when to 'activate' the free Osaka one-day pass?

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Regards,
A very stressed traveller

- From what I can read from the website, it will be valid (by your example) from the 7th till th 13th.

- It is valid for one day starting at its first use, it says, so I suppose you can choose what day to use it.

(Read the "Itinerary" tab on your link.)

"am I allowed to choose when to 'activate' the free Osaka one-day pass?"
yes. you can choose the day. but, I think the day should be between Day1 and Day7.

there is some limitation in this voucher. use it carefully.
generally, if you buy a regular ticket, you can start from any JR stations in Tokyo ward area and arrive at any JR stations in Osaka city area with no additional fare. this voucher only covers from Tokyo (Shinagawa) to Shin-Osaka.
if you make a trip from JR Shinjuku (Tokyo area) to JR Tennoji (Osaka area),
Shinjuku to Tokyo (Shinagawa), an extra payment.
Shin-Osaka to Tennoji, another extra payment.
whereas those are free (no additional fares) by a regular ticket.
