I would like to know which are the companies offering the Go Karting tours in Tokyo and if all of them require an internatonal driver license.

Thanks

Ok thanks. But I was not clear, do you know other options? And which of them do not require international driver license?

You need an international drivers license. No if, buts or maybes.

You are driving a motorized vehicle on public roads.

In the case of Brazil, it can drive a car in Japan if you have an international driver's license.
Switzerland, Slovenia, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, Taiwan is okay in the usual driver's license if there is a document.

Re: Go Karting in Tokyo 2016/6/26 22:43
This is now on the top of my list of things to do while in Tokyo.

My question is, will I fit in a kart? I am 6'5" 225lbs.

I don't mind a tight fit, but I can't fold up too much.

Also, does anyone have any preference between the two companies?

Thanks

Re: Go Karting in Tokyo 2016/6/27 01:12
I've seen those things running numerous times and they're quite small. It may be too tight a fit for 6'5". They are so low to the ground, they seem insignificant in traffic. They are always ridden very slow and in groups of three to five when I saw them. I would be scared to death to ride those things.

You really need a license to drive a go kart?

Re: Go Karting in Tokyo 2016/6/29 07:08
No. You need a license to prove you can drive on a public road with other road users.

@ You gotta have Wa (guest)
Send e-mail.
But recommend use convert table/converter web before
to Japanese scale "m/cm" and "kg".
http://www.afnjapan.com/nfl/116/
Looks tight but maybe possible I guess.
T150 - 185cm are no problem by seat slider.
http://akibanavi.net/images/gallery-index/6.jpg
In mid Tokyo hard slope not so many.(depends on route)

@ Sakurayuna (guest)
Send e-mail.
A bit hard but maybe possible I guess.

@ SlickEric
Need "legal" licence of "mini/micro car"
water/sky blue number/registration plate motor vehicles.
If by Japanses one need "•’สŽฉ“ฎŽิ–ฦ‹–(AT)"
or by "IDPiInternational Driving Permit)" need "B" stamp.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Driving_Permit

This Kart/Cart using small 50cc engine
but not belonging "motorcycle" as Japanese vehicle law.
So cannot ride by only "Œด•t" and IDP "A" stamp.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
(notes)
Right foot is accel pedal but breaking is "Left" foot.

Kart(as mini car)'s traffic violations belonging "•’สŽฉ“ฎŽิ".
No mini car's discount rate of fine.

‘ฌ“x’ด‰฿/over speed/speeding
M†–ณŽ‹/ignoring traffic lights
Œg‘ั“d˜bŽg—p“™iŒ๐’ส‚ฬŠ๋Œฏjˆแ”ฝ/driving with cellphone talking/camera,video recording by hand
(hands free items are legal no problem)
’“Žิˆแ”ฝ/illegal parking
ˆ๙Ž๐‰^“]Fdrunk driving (under arrest under 3yrs jail or max 50 thousand Y)

Recommend use Helmet.
No helmet driving for mini car is legal but need for safe.
Just not "must".

@ haro1210
