Do we need to Get Suica Card for a 5 year old kid? Does it charge the same fare for a 6-11year old kid? How about a 12 year old kid who's still in elementary, can the kid avail of the childs discount on a Suica Card? I read some article from tokyometro.jp that a 12yo kid whos still in elementary is still covered with a childs discounted fare. Thank you.

Under 6 travels free except when using reserved seats.
A 12-year-old who still attends Japanese elementary school pays child fare (so can get a child Suica), but I'm not sure about children in foreign schools. Just ask at the station.

If the child is 12 and attends a Japanese elementary, he he/she is entitled to a child IC card.
