Kumamoto or Nagasaki? 2016/7/5 16:47
Dear all,
we are planning to stay in Kumamoto for two nights next week. We planned to rent a car for a day and explore the Mount Aso area on our own, but are doubtful - is this advisable at the moment? Are there many roads closed? Would it make more sense to go to Nagasaki and spend 2,5 days in that area?
We would be helpful for any Information!
Thanks a lot in advance and best regards from Vienna!

Kumamoto is more city and natural landscapes.
Nagasaki are smaller towns clustered together and with more seaside scenery.

Not that Kumamoto does not have scenic beaches, just they aren't that well known amongst tourist.

I cant so much speak for Kumamoto which I missed (though Yufuin was a lot of fun and the Kurokawa Onsen area was pretty), but I didnt really think that Nagasaki city was all that interesting.

The BioPark was awesome (stayed at Huis Ten Bosch and took the shuttle), but aside from that my preference for the coastline was along the Karatsu line from Fukuoka, and actually I liked Karatsu itself a lot.
