booking restaurants in tokyo 2016/7/7 13:01
when you want to book an restaurant.(before travel or even you are in there)

For expample, on tabelog.Which has tons of resaurants rated.150000 in tokyo!

I know there is some on opentable but it has only 500~1000.

But it doesnt allow online booking.Just by call.

When its not able to talk in English, only Japanese means , its not able to book.

Because most restaurants don't have english speaker.

So in this situation , what do you do?

Generally tourists who don't speak Japanese can ask their hotel concierge to make restaurant reservations for them.

Alternatively, restaurants are very often bunched together in restaurant complexes, department stores or office buildings, so you can usually find someplace with an empty table just by walking around.

try Gurunavi, similar to tabelog but they do offer reservation support

or if you have to try those famous restaurants, you can try https://www.govoyagin.com where they will help you to book with a fee.

previously, i stayed in airbnb, i got my host to reserve the restaurant for me.

As Umami said, in general travellers ask the hotel.

We usually don't make reservations when we go to Japan, we just show up at restaurants.

You can also look up restaurants in advance using some English websites.
