You could do it. But you'd have limited time, so there could not to everything. Probably the base shrine area only.

It does not take too long, about an hour, if you move slowly and enjoy the view. The best part of Miyajima Shrine is to see both high and low tide. This will most likely not be possible with your tight schedule. If you can, try to be there for high tide.

There are several places to see on Miyajima - so it's unclear what you mean for "Miyajima Shrine". Presumably you mean the Itsukushima Shrine, with the giant 'floating torii" in the water. The shrine itself you can walk through and admire in just 20-30 minutes.

If it low tide though, you can also walk out on the beach up to the torii itself. It would be a tragedy if that was all you saw though. The Daishoin Temple is in many ways far more varied and beautiful, and you should not miss it.

You can see it in anywhere between 45 minutes at a brisk pace to over an hour at a slower pace. And it's free.
The other main sight is climbing Mt Misen, and that could take a couple of hours or more depending on how you go up there and take it all in.

There are some other places as well - a shopping street, aquarium, park, plus hiking trails.
