We would like to go from Kyoto to Toyota car factory/museum by rail with rail passes. What is the best route/changes etc?

Which rail passes?
I'm doubtful one pass will cover both Shinkansen to Nagoya and subways around Nagoya together.

hakata14 - the trip to the Toyoto museum and factory tour involves no subways - it is out in Toyota city. Fully covered by the JRP, not in Nagoya.
