Hello,
I want to visit Tsumago & Magome for a day trip. I will be staying in Matsumoto. Can I explore around these 2 places in a day? Please share me your idea!

I once did a trip from Matsumoto to Osaka, via Nagoya with stops at Narai, Tsumago and Magome before taking a cab to Nakatsugawa in order to take the train to Nagoya and further to Osaka.
I took the first limited Express in the morning to Kiso-Fukushima and then to Narai, where I stayed an hour. I then took the train to Nagiso to catch the bus to Tsumago and then to Magome. I stayed about an hour or so in each place before taking a cab to Nakatsugawa.
I was in Osaka about 9pm in time for dinner in Dotombori.
So I would say you have enough time to visit these places if you are returning to Matsumoto. You must take a bus from Magome to the rail station on the Chuo Main line in Nakatsugawa.
