Fujinomiya to Gotemba via Hoeizan peak sept 2016/8/31 03:33
I am going to Tokyo near the end of September and am really keen to visit Mt Fuji. I understand that routes to the summit are closed off but I was wandering if it was still possible to so from Fujinomiya 5th station to Gotemba 5th station via Hoeizan peak?

Hi Harry

It's highly unlikely that there will be snow at that altitude on the mountain by late September, so you should be fine. Maybe take a pair of walking poles with you in case though, and/or a pair of micro spikes or equivalent (if you have them).

Your main concern beyond the weather forecast should be to make sure you have the bus times from Gotenba 5th station printed out, to make sure you don't end up stranded.

Have a nice hike!
