road/weather route Takayama - Nikko November

We are planning to travel by train from Kyoto to Takayama and then rent a car, so we can travel step-by-step via Matsumoto and Obuse to Nikko. A scenic route. We are planning to arrive on the 11th of Nov in Takayama and on the 15th in Nikko.
I was wondering how the road conditions in the Alps will be like. Are all road open? or can we expect heavy snow conditions and closed road en route? where especially?

That period is not in the season still falling snow.
Just you can see the snow covered only higher mountain top.
