Return Suica Card 2016/10/3 03:56
Hi,

I will most likely use Suica when travel around Tokyo and Yokohama. Just a question, as I will arrive at Haneda and depart at Narita, if to purchase Suica at the Monoral station, is it possible to return the card for the refund back at Narita?

I do know both are operate by JR East. But read JR East website suggest that I will get a Suica Monorail card, which is different and not to get any refund, unless fly back from Haneda, which is not the case for me.

Thanks.

The Tokyo Monorail is operated by the Tokyo Monorail Company, which is a subsidiary of JR East but operates independently of it. In particular, a Monorail Suica bought at a Tokyo Monorail station cannot be returned at a JR East station.

Easy solution: buy a Pasmo instead.

Option 1: Buy a Pasmo as Firas suggested
Option 2: Get a regular ticket for the monorail, and once you arrive at any non-monorail JR station get a regular Suica there
Option 3: Keep it as a memento, the monorail Suica has a cute monorail design!

About Option 3 :
Suica(and other same function transportation IC cards, too) validity is very long "10 years" fr last using date.
So you can bring it back to yr country no problem.

Also you cannot get left stored fare(charge) all + deposit 500Y all.
Need refund fee 220Y minus.

Tokyo monorail EN web no announcement all

but JP page only mentioned well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
calc samples
left 500Y/SF : (500-220) + 500 = 780Y
left 300Y/SF : (300-220) + 500 = 580Y
left 220Y/SF : (220-220) + 500 = 500Y deposit back only
left 100Y/SF : (no refund fee) = 500Y deposit back only

PASMO How to/FAQ more helpful than Suica(JR-East).
http://www.pasmo.co.jp/en/faq/

If buy PASMO, NRT Keisei ticket counter is "Blue"
JR is "Red" same place near ticket gate face to face. (right and left)

At HND PASMO saler is "Keikyu" right/correct.
http://www.haneda-tokyo-access.com/en/ticket/pasmo.html
http://www.haneda-airport.jp/inter/en/access/train.html

NRT have 3 terminal building but rail stn is 2 (for T1/for T2,T3).
T1 is rail end stn.
http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/access/train/index.html

And Suica,Monorail Suica and PASMO all not valid for LtdExp fee.
Only covered "base fare" A to B stn fee.
LtdExp fee is one of option top up ticket for taking upper/higher class fast/more comfortable train.
Kesei : Skyliner mainly (colored Blue)

JR : N'EX (colored Red)

(exception : you can buy at vending machine with IC sticker
but a bit incovenient much touching menu screen numbers)
Both companies regular trains(Local/Rapid) operating a lot.

(trivia?)
Most regular sales cute IC card in Tokyo area is "Rinkai Suica".
http://www.twr.co.jp/en/tabid/234/Default.aspx#ticket05
But no sales at HND also cannot refund at NRT.
Rinkai Suica sales/refund only different company "Rinkai Railway".
