Itinerary for Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Wakayama

Hello,
My family and I are visiting Japan via Osaka Kansai Airport from Nov 9 to Nov 18 (9 nights). Will touch down on Nov 9 at early morning and will depart on Nov 18 at early morning.
Currently the plan is to visit Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Wakayama. We have already booked Kyoto accomodation for first 4 nights, and Osaka for last 2 nights.
Appreciate if there are some advice on how we can plan the itinerary for the 4 places, and any tips on what mode of transportation and passes to get, and any suggestion of places to visit.
We have young kids and old folks in the family. So one big consideration is not to have too tight schedule and too physically challenging activities.
