JRP or something else?

Hello
We are currently planning our 12day trip to Japan consisting of:
D0: Flight to Tokyo D1: Asakusa / Skytree/ Ryogoku Kokugikan D2: Akihabara D3: Ghibli Museum / Shinjuku / Shibuya D4: Fishmarket/ Tokyo Tower/ Roppongi/ Imperial Palace/ Ueno Park&Zoo D5: Travel to Kyoto and visit Shrines & Temples (stay there) D6: Arashiyama D7: Osaka Shopping (Shinsai/ Dotonbori/ Namba/ Kuramon) D8: Osaka Aquarium/ Skybuilding/ Osaka Castle/ Shopping&Eating) D9: Travel back to Tokyo and spend day freely D10: Odaiba Island D11: Fly back
My question is now, is 7d-JRP still worth it? Considering we could use it from Day3-9? Or would you suggest something else which is fast enough in order not to lose too much time? Also would appreciate some itinerary improvement suggestions.
Thank you - Kai

A 7-day JR Pass will come close to paying off with a round trip between Tokyo and the Kansai area, but will not fully pay off. Consider the discount shinkansen vouchers available from Japanican (Google it).

If you use it for days 5-11, you can use it for the Narita Express, if leaving from there, and then it should pay off.

I looked on japanican.com for bullet train specials and I am wondering if they have discounts for trains from Osaka to Nagasaki?

No, Japanican deals only in the more popular tourist routes.
