JR Tokyo Wide Pass 2016/10/22 06:07
Hi again!
ILm going to Japan for 21 days with my husband and 4 children next year. We will fly to Narita and we have to get to Shinjuku because we stay close to the JR station there. We will also go to Nikko on a day trip (on day 3) The most convinient way for us is taking Limited Express direct from Shinjuku ( not going to Asakusa). As I understood that JR Tokyo Wide Pass covers both those places am I right? And we can save some money as it costs 3190 (Narita - Shinjuku) + 4000 (Sninjuku - Nikko) + 4000 (return) = 11190:- (JR Tokyo Wide Pass costs 10000:- yen for 3 consecutive days).
And we could use this pass for day 2 taking JR East Line and going for some sightseeing. Does it make sense?
Thank you guys!

http://www.tobu.co.jp/foreign/en/pass/all.html

the all nikko pass is 4520 yen (adult) and include buses also.

and a regular rapid train to Tokyo station and one transfer to Shinjuku will cost you 1440 yen (adult). this option will take an extra 20-30 mins.

4,000 yen cheaper.

or you can still take the Narita Express (31XX yen) and still be 2000 yen cheaper.

Thank you Hakata.
I mean we will travel with 4 kids and would like to do few transfer as possible. And we cant use Niklo pass from Shinjuku, just from Asakusa. I am a little bit scared about rush and crowds in the morning rush so I guess it should be more convinient just step on train at Shinjuku.
Any suggestions for expirience Tokyo city with this pass om Day 2? Akihabara is iimportant. Any other suggestions? Try monorail? Train museum?
Thank you

Haha! Sorry! Forget my stupid question! I see that all JR lines are JR East in Tokyo. So we can go where we want with this pass 😀

Convenience makes sense.

Many things to do on your 2nd day.

To Kawaguchiko for Fuji 5 Lakes area
To Izukyu-Shimoda for Ito Peninsula
To Yokokawa/Takasaki for Usui PAss Railway Preservation Park
http://www.usuitouge.com/bunkamura/
To Omiya/Tetsudo-Hakubutsukan for JR East Railway Museum

So yeah if you are gonna buy the wide pass, go somewhere good for the second day and get good value out of it.
