Are Kabukicho relatively safe given the redlight area?
Planning a trip and found a cool 3star hotel looks clean and reviews are good, but just wondering.

Yes, it is a safe area - just part of Shinjuku and Kabukicho also includes the local ward office. Ok, it might not be the best address to have on a business card, but that doesn't mean any of the thousands of people that go there every day are in some kind of danger.
One of the larger hotels is the Gracery with Godzilla on top.
