I am attending a business event in Nagoya on February 23 and 24 and would like to know where to fly to, how to transport in to Nagoya , etc. I am also considering going before or staying a few days after to enjoy Japan. Please help!

You could fly to Nagoya....
Read the Nagoya section of this website for help with transport (the 'Getting to and Around' section). Google Maps can help to.
For things to do afterwards, read around this website. Look at a map of Japan and pick sights around Nagoya, or you could travel to Tokyo or the Kansai area.

Internationa‚Œ Airport,Nagoya(Chubu Centrair) is convenient. Both train and bus route connect to the airport and Nagoya city. There are many sigheseeing spots around Nagoya. Nagoya castle(The inner citadel is beautiful),Museum of Tokugawa,for example. More details are below. http://www.centrair.jp/en/
