Going to Kyushu in February 2017 is safe? 2016/10/31 17:28
Hello,

I'm planning a travel to Kyushu in February 2017, specially Fukuoka- Kumamoto-Kagoshima.
I wondered about the how the infrastructures are, i mean, is it a good idea to go on these dates after the big earthquakes?
Is the airport of Fukuoka okay?
Is the shinkansen and other regional trains avalaible?

Thank you very much for all the details.

Kyushu is long past any major issues as the earthquake was a long time ago. Kumamoto castle has structural issues and a small train line east of Kumamoto is not operational.

But other than that. Kyushu is open for business and has been for a very long time. IF you need any more info. It is all over the internet wear they (Kyushu) are up to in their recovery. To be honest. I'm surprised questions like this still arise so far after the event.

Japan is back to 100% safe past a major earthquake in a matter of days.

Worrying for one that happened months ago is kind of nonsense.
