Hi,
Were planning to use 7days jr pass to ride shinkansen from tokyo to osaka and osaka to tokyo, after visiting osaka, can we ride again to shinkansen from tokyo to nikko and nikko to tokyo? Can we use the jr pass to ride unlimited shinkansen?
Thank you.

The Shinkansen does not go to Nikko. If you are asking whether you can take it to Utsunomiya, yes.

You can ride shinkansen plus other JR trains. From utsunomiya to Nikko you can ride a JR train (not shinkansen tho) but it is covered by JR pass.

More precisely, between Tokyo and Osaka you cannot use Nozomi shinkansen, but you can use Hikari or Kodama without limitation.
Between Tokyo and Nikko you can use the shinkansen to Utsunomiya and then the JR Nikko line (normal train). Please note that Hayabusa shinkansen do not stop at Utsunomiya station, so you should not use them.
For both shinkansens, you may want to reserve a seat should you need to take a train in particular. You can do this up to 1 month in advance, until 5 minutes before departure, at any JR ticket office. In main cities like Tokyo and Osaka, the employees will speak English, so don't worry. Otherwise you can use non-reserved seats at your convenience. You may not find free seats, but usually it is OK, so no stress !
