Snow Tires required for Hakone End Jan?

Hi,
I am looking to rent a car to self-drive from Tokyo to Hakone, Gotemba outlets and Kamakura during the end of Jan 2017. Would snow tires be required or would normal tires suffice?

Depends on weather.
Hakone and Gotenba are one of snow falling area need snow tire.
But snow falling is not everyday and amount also not so many
however, btw night will be under 0 = ice temp usual very risky if not fallen.
Tokyo and Kamakura are warmer basically no need.
But both are inconvenient by a car
especially expensive parking fee make yr wallet thin very quickly also already "full" usual.
(over 1000Y/1h = 60min parking are a lot)
(illegal parking penalty/fine also expensive 6000-25000Y)
So by trains enough.
