buy Hakodate-Sapporo train ticket in Tokyo?

hi,
We are going to Japan on Dec 26. stay 2 night in Tokyo and fly to Hakodate on Dec 28. from hakodate will use train to Sapporo on Dec 30 (Limited Express Super Hokuto 9, depart 10.48 AM). since this is a holiday season, i am worry i could not get ticket for 4 of us if we purchase it in Hakodate (i.e. on Dec 29).
can we buy the ticket in Tokyo instead, like on Dec 27? please advise.

Use official online reservation form if you have acceptable credit card. https://www3.jrhokkaido.co.jp/rail-en/asp/RWY010.aspxRead all from "STEP 1". If NOT possible at any JR stations(JR-East mainly) in Tokyo which have ticket office/counter(midori-no-madoguchi) But if reaserved seats already full booked/sold out, you have to go Hakodate stn dep platform earlier time for getting Non-Reserved seat. Non-Reserved seat ticket is no sold out also purchasing on the day at Hakodate stn possible. Hakodate stn building looks big but inside is very simple.
