Illumination on 1st week of January 2017?

I am expecting to stay overnight on January 4, 2017, and this will be my only chance to stay in Shirakawa-go this year and will not be able to reach the earliest set illumination date January 22, 2017. I would like it if there's a consolation that at least SOME houses would light up during my stay, even if it won't be complete, so I'd like to ask anyone who has stayed around the same date as me if there are houses that still light up at around this week?
Also asking if Shirakawa-go will be fully covered in snow at this time.

I am not sure if this is the correct authority but most probably they will answer you the same information that light-up will not start until 2017.01.11.
You may contact Shirakawa-go Tourist Association: info-e@shirakawa-go.gr.jp for further details.
