Standing tickets on Hayabusa guaranteed?

Hello,
I want to reach Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto on Dec 30th by Hayabusa train.
I have a reserved seat on a train up to Shin Aomori that I have booked online via JR East. All the trains were full so I wanted to be sure to get at least to Shin-Aomori.
From Shin-Aomori I want to get the following train that goes through to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto. As it looks, most trains will be full but I cannot know precisely because you cannot book this segment from abroad.
So I will have to try to get a standing ticket when I arrive in Japan on the 29th. I was wondering: do these standing tickets sell out ? Am I guaranteed one?
Kind regards,
Moritz

When you arrive, why not just book the next segment like normal. If there is space, you get a ticket. I doubt there is a 'guarantee" that anyone would give you.
