12 days at Sapporo

Hi there, I am planning next year trip to Sapporo for 12days trip because I want to go furano lavender farm. But since I had plenty of day. Beside Furano n Sapporo any other location can travel to? And I was thinking rent a car from Sapporo to Furano is it ok or shall I reach Furano then rent a car n stay there? Hope can have some advice from all of you. Thanks🙏🏻
