Ferry to Yakushima, seasick? 2016/12/30 09:42
Hi,
As I have a tendency to get dizzy and sometimes felt seasick when I travelled by small ferry in Ganary Islands I was thinking of the options of visiting Yakushima by ferry.

What are the waters like?

Taking the big ferry maybe is safer than the small one?

Flying is an option yes but not as cheap.
Maybe any ideas to prevent seasickness?

Hi Yolo,

My brother have been to Yakushima some years ago.
He said the water is calm.
However, of course it depends on the weather.
So I recommend you to take medicine for seasick.

Maybe yes.
This is the famous one.

I went on a jetfoil, and it was a fairly smooth ride. I would recommend using these. I it a compromise between going by ferry and flying in.

Of course, I would not suggest doing this during a cyclone.

Get some seasick pills - simple over-the-counter medication.
