Shirakawa-go to Hirugano Kogen Ski Resort

We will be in Nagoya on Feb 15-20, 2017 and We want to go to Shirakawa-go and Hirugano Kogen Ski Resort in just 1 day. Is 1 day enough to enjoy these 2 places? We're thinking of spemding 2-3 hrs in Shirakawa-go then proceed to Hirugano. How far apart are these places? Please advise how do we get there from Nagoya Station? Should we take the train and/or bus? Please Help.
