Odawara - Toyota Plant Tour 2017/1/18 06:58
Hi everyone!
We are going from Odawara to Toyota Kaikan Plant. For JR trains we will use our JR passes . But need to pay separately for not-JR leg (Okazaki - Mikawa-Toyota wich runs buy Aichikanjo tetsudo).

My question is: can we pay this part with Suica IC card that will be charged in Tokyo. Or should we buy tickets at tickets machine?

Thank you.

No, the Aichi Loop Railway does not accept any IC cards.

that will be charged in Tokyo

Note that Suica cards can also be charged outside of Tokyo, e.g. in Nagoya.

Or should we buy tickets at tickets machine?

You will have to do so at Okazaki Station.

Thank you.
It seems to be not so easy with IC Cards.
Generally - what does it happen if we on train but dont have right tickets / right cards?
Is it possible (without knowledge) to step om the train and go without eligible tickets? is it hugh penalty?
Or does it work like: No tickets = no entrance?

You will be charged, kicked out or turned a blind eye to, depending on the situation and staff.

Is it possible (without knowledge) to step om the train and go without eligible tickets?

Yes, for example, boarding a train with an IC card (e.g. in a city) and alighting at a station that does not have IC card readers (e.g. minor station in the countryside). Or use a pass (e.g. Japan Rail Pass) on a train that is not covered by the pass (e.g. Nozomi).

is it hugh penalty?

In case of the IC card mistake, there will probably be no penalty. You just would have to pay it in a different way. In case of the Japan Rail Pass, it depends on the situation. You may have to pay a surcharge.

Or does it work like: No tickets = no entrance?

Usually that is how it works, but there are various exceptions.

In case of your trip to Toyota, you will simply not be able to use the Aichi Loop Railway with an IC card. You will only be able to pass the ticket gates with a normal ticket. So, there is not much to worry.
