I am eyeing on getting a discounted ticket instead of a JR Pass for my 9 days trip to Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka-Tokyo I was wondering if anyone here knows if we need to leave Kyoto at 6:30 AM as indicated in the itinerary below: http://www.japanican.com/en/tour/review/VJOPENTK1/?typecd=TOU&kw=E-Vou...We plan to spend 3 days in Kyoto-Osaka, then leave Osaka and go back to Tokyo in the afternoon or night time. Can we choose our own time as to when we will take the bullet train?

Yes, you are free to board any train of your choice (non-reserved seats only).
