Izu Peninsula or the Japan Alps 2017/1/25 05:35
Travelling End-March to beginning April. Travelling with teenagers.
I have two days between Tokyo and Kyoto.
Would you suggest Izu Peninsula for the waterfalls and beaches or Takayama - Kanazawa for the Alps town?

Well I'm not an expert on Izu (have never been) but I did spend a year living in the alps near Yatsugatake and would definitely recommend!

In all seriousness though both of those options are great, but offer a very different experience.

Forgot to say above but April-March will be chilly for beaches.

Thanks Elivira
Yes, I too did think the water will be cold.
Decided to do 2 days in Kanazawa and settle for one day on the Izu Peninsula.
