Travel Plans so far. (26/4-19/5) Day 1 KIX to Osaka - Nagai sta Day 2 - 8 osaka to nara, kobe, usj, awaji island, himeji etc Day 9 Kyoto Day 11 Hakone/Fuji Day 13 Tokyo , disneyland, odaiba, shibu, general area etc Day 22 Narita
I'm getting conflicting opinions on whether to go for the 7 day pass for the longer trips ie himeji, kyoto, hakone, tokyo OR just get a 21 and cover the whole trip.
Thanks

Or, do not get a JR pass at all. Just get a discount ticket from Osaka to Tokyo, and fill in with local passes. Local passes work out to around 500-1000 yen/day. At 29,000 yen, the JR pass, even the 7 day one, cannot be justified. The discount ticket should be around 10,000 yen.

Kyoto to Odawara is the only long distance travel you'll do on that Itinerary. No JR 7/14/21 day pass is worth it.
As suggested earlier. Get a cheap ticket for said route, and use normal trains with or without daily passes for all the others.
