Room at Gora Kadan 2017/2/1 05:54
Hi! Im planning a trip with my husband on September. And thinking about spending our last night at Gora Kadan before heading to Narita Airport next morning to catch our evening flight.
My question is what room is worth paying at the ryokan?
I was thinking Matsu is my best option but pictures are small and cannot decide.
Is there any other ryokan suggestions around that may be a better option??
Thank you so much!

Every room is gorgeous at the Kadan but I'd suggest getting any with the private rotenburo. And when I say any I do mean any. There is not one single room in that ryokan that is not worth splurging on. It will also depend on their availability on that day.

The Kadan room is a great choice for your own private onsen. The Hakone English Facebook page answers messages pretty quickly with ideas.

For the same price range there are some other places to consider:

and Hakone Ginyu

As others have said, the Kadan Suites and Rooms with open air bath (incl Matsu) are good options but do not go for the Standard rooms (A-D) without baths as these are not good value.
