Hi everyone!
Just wanted to ask for your opinion if I'll be able to save time id I take the limited express train to Otsuki rather than taking a bus direct to Kawaguchiko?
Also, if i take the limited express train to Otsuki using the JR pass, do i need to pay extra fee or it's covered by the pass?

ust wanted to ask for your opinion if I'll be able to save time id I take the limited express train to Otsuki rather than taking a bus direct to Kawaguchiko?Unless there are traffic delays, the bus is usually a little bit faster: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.htmlAlso, if i take the limited express train to Otsuki using the JR pass, do i need to pay extra fee or it's covered by the pass?It is fully covered as far as Otsuki. From Otsuki to Kawaguchiko, the JR Tokyo Wide Pass is also valid, but all other JR passes are not.

Thanks Uji! Appreciate your response but when I checked the schedule, it seems like the bus to Kawaguchiko leaves every hour only? 8:45 being the earliest daily?

There is a 6:05 on weekends and holidays, then a 7:15 departure everyday, then a 7:45 departure everyday, etc.
