Travelling Around Mt Fuji

We will be staying in the Fuji 5 Lakes region in May this year (2017) for 3 nights. Is it possible to travel around the perimeter of Mt Fuji by bus/public transport. We are hoping to get some beautiful photos from different locations.

depends on where you want to go.
Most scenic spots can be reached easily by public transport.
Lake Kawaguchiko, Kachi Kachi Railway spot, Chureito Pagoda, Fuji Q Highland and Hakone are very well reachable by public transport which I can say from experience.
Other spots like Oshino Hakkai, I have not been myself, but there is a bus going there. Just beware, because they do not run frequent (wanting to visit but cancelled because we missed the bus)
