Best Mt. Fuji Day trip 2017/2/25 10:49
Hi! We are travelling to Tokyo on March 2. I would like to squeeze in a day trip to see Mt. Fuji:

1) Where is the best location to see Mt. Fuji
2) How will we go to this location and what is the estimated cost from Shinjuku?

Thank you

I recommend the Fuji Five Lake area. Access is explained below:

If you can't squeeze in a day trip, you can view Mt. Fuji from the observation decks of some tall buildings. The one I chose was the World Trade Center in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo.

I did two day trips to 'Fuji':

1. Did the Hakone round-course in Hakone when transferring from Tokyo to Kyoto.
2. Went to Chureito Pagoda by train and spend some time there. Took another train to Kawaguchiko and walked around the area and took the Kachi Kachi Ropeway. Got some great views of Fuji and had a lovely day trip from Tokyo.
