Fuji hakone pass round trip and delayed start

Hi,
I am considering buying the Fuji Hakone Pass from Shinjuku (including round trip), but as I will be there for more than 3 days, I plan to only start using the pass on the second day. Will it be possible for me to specify the start date of my pass to be the day after my purchase?
Also, do I have to use the ticket for Odawara to Shinjuku within the validity period of the Pass? In other words, even if my pass has expired, will I still be able to use my ticket to get from Odawara to Shinjuku?

The pass is valid for 3 consecutive days only. If you plan to stay in Fuji/Hakone area longer, it might be better to buy the Odawara version. Or, if you buy the Shinjuku version you use only for one way (not for round trip, and may not get its full value).
