How to translate my Chinese name to Japanese? 2017/3/24 04:16
I wonder if you can read in Kun-Yomi, On-Yomi, and nanori. Or if you are Japanese or know of Japanese. Then please translate/change my Chinese name to Japanese name. My Chinese characters/name is 邵天佑. Don't forget my name is masculine. Not girl name! Anyway, hope you will reply or comment it.

We would treat your name as 邵天佑. I mean most of us use Chinese characters for names. Some exceptions could be Hiragana, only for girls' given names. For foreigners', we use Katakana, but not for Chinese, since we share Chinese characters. However, we call a Chinese person's name in Japanese sounds. For example, we call 孔子 as "Koshi / こうし", not as Kong Zi.

Your family name should be "Sho / しょう".

Your given name would be "Tenyu / てんゆう".

So the answer would be 邵天佑, pronounced as "Sho Tenyu / しょう てんゆう".
