Hi there, I am very confuse wether to buy the JR pass or not consider it is expensive and we will travel 3 persons (family) or just buy the Suica card. Our schedule is 6-12 April in Tokyo, then 12-16 April in Osaka (we fly from Tokyo to Osaka. Then on 16/4 will fly from Osaka to Hong Kong. During in Tokyo we plan to go one day trip to Mt. Fuji and Gatomba. Can we view the Mt Fuji from the Gatomba or better from Hakone. Thank you.

JR Pass and Suica are very different and don't really overlap in their purposes.
Anyway, the answer is pretty easy in your case: the JR pass won't be anywhere near worth it.
Gatomba? Do you mean Gotemba? Gotemba is quite a bit closer to Mt. Fuji than Hakone, and can give you a good view.
