2 Nights in Tokyo before Departure
|

Basically I am in Tokyo for 15 nights. I will be activating my JR pass as soon as I get there so by Night 14 My JR Pass expires. I will have 1 night left in Tokyo
During my previous visit, I had spent some time exploring places like Odaiba, Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Tokyo Tower, Nippori, Hino, Mitaka, 47 Ronin Cemetery, Asakusa, Ueno, Harajuku, Shinjuku.
I am not that into fashion or pop culture. So is there anything else that people can recommend I should see or do?
I plan to do my shopping in the evening, and I plan to stay in Nippori again out of convenience of the Skyliner.

Okay, you're not into fashion or pop culture (fair enough - neither am I.) But what *are* you into? For instance I love photography, so can give you some ideas if that's what you're looking to do.

Not in Tokyo but how about a day trip to either Kamakura or Yokohama? Both are worth the visit and not so far away to be expensive to get to.

Thats the thing I am unsure. Mainly cause it will be the last couple of days in Japan and I might be too exhausted and short on funds for trips. But I guess historical sights and old architecture.
What I would like is to visit another Matsuri (Just a small local shrine festival with the usual food stalls and games, that was a nice atmosphere, but I know they only have them at certain dates.)

@Stan Norrell
I was thinking of Doing Kamakura on the way back from Osaka, I plan to depart early. How long will it take for me to see everything if I say arrive there at 12-1pm?
Yokohama, I was thinking of as well but not sure if any of the sights recommended on Japan-Guide are for me. I will do some research on train times and costs.
Thanks.
What about Onsens. Other than Edo Monogatari and the one at Asakusa?

You want a full day for Kamakura.
If you are arriving around 12-1pm. Then you might as well keep going to Tokyo. Enjoy a rest, and hit Kamakura the next day fresh.

Sorry wasn't clear on the whole information. But I am in Japan for 16 days and 15 nights. And I will be travelling each day to new locations to make the most of the pass. That's why I need a JR pass. I will be in Tokyo for the last 2 nights. So I will have 1 night when the Pass would not be valid.
I managed to see Nara in about 4-5 Hours. Is Kamakura not the about the same size?

I also forgot to ask. but if I do Kamakura on the day I leave Osaka. Is there a place for me to store my luggage? It will be a carry on suitcase (The largest size they let you take on the plane).
Are there lockers? and if they have no more vacant is there another place I could keep my luggage?

Have you been to Yanaka? It's convenient for the Skyliner and is a lovely area to explore. You can leave your luggage in a coin locker or possibly even at your accommodation.

I tend to stay at Nippori which is close to Yanaka. But I can't find a Airbnb for Yanaka with a Private room for the 29th till the 1st of May. But for Kamakura are there any lockers?

Thanks for the info. Tsutsuji Matsuri is this similar to a Shrine Festival with the Food Stalls and games?
